Learning Plan
Summary of Key Learning Events and Instruction
Students will meet as a class to watch and discuss the teacher provided PowerPoint presentation. Teacher will provide details about the explorers and induce student discussions by using Kaegan structures.
Students will then be assigned in partners to research a selected explorer of their choice. Students will be able to use the internet for guidance.
The students, with their partners, will have to produce a media presentation of the chosen explorer explaining the explorer's nation of origin, timeframe, achievements, motivations, and challenges faced.
Students will present their presentation to the class and be prepared to answer questions pertaining to their presentation.
All students being presented to must provide feedback on the presenting student’s presentation. The students will answer a google form giving the presentation 2 “glows” or great things about it, and 2 “grows” or needs for improvement.
